Description

A fun and simple craft using toilet paper rolls to create charming bees and a beehive, perfect for kids and family bonding.

Materials

  • 1 empty toilet paper roll
  • Yellow and black paint (or markers)
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Construction paper (in blue, green, or any color you like)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Roll: Start by painting the entire toilet paper roll with yellow paint and allow it to dry completely. You can also use markers for a quicker option.
  2. Add Stripes: Once the yellow paint is dry, use black paint or a black marker to add stripes around the roll to resemble a bee’s body.
  3. Create Wings: Cut out two wing shapes from construction paper. You can make them any size and shape you like! Attach them to the top of the painted roll using glue.
  4. Attach Eyes: Glue on the googly eyes toward the top of the roll, just above the center.
  5. Make Antennae: Cut two pieces of pipe cleaner, bend them into shape, and glue or poke them into the top of the roll to act as antennae.
  6. Create a Hive: To make a beehive, take a separate piece of construction paper and fold it into a honeycomb shape. Decorate it as desired, and display it alongside your bee.

Notes

Use different colors and shapes for creativity. Supervise kids while cutting.
