Description

A fun and engaging craft project creating a vibrant suncatcher using leaves and watercolor paints.


Materials

  • Leaves (real or paper cutouts)
  • Watercolor paints
  • Water
  • Paintbrush
  • Clear contact paper or transparent laminate
  • Scissors
  • String or ribbon for hanging


Instructions

  1. Prepare the leaves by gathering and pressing them flat.
  2. Mix different watercolor paint colors with water in a palette.
  3. Paint the back side of the leaves with the watercolor mixture.
  4. Seal the painted leaves between two pieces of clear contact paper.
  5. Cut out the shapes, trimming excess paper around the leaves.
  6. Add a piece of string or ribbon at the top for hanging.
  7. Display your suncatcher in a sunny window.

Notes

Encourage kids to explore color themes and use different shapes for variation. Supervise scissors use for safety.
