Description

A delightful craft project that combines creativity with fun, creating a colorful lantern from tissue paper.

Materials

  • Tissue paper in various colors (red, yellow, green, blue, purple)
  • A small jar or cup for the lantern base
  • Scissors
  • Glue or a glue stick
  • A LED tea light for safety
  • Optional: string for hanging

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Start by finding a flat surface to work on. Lay down some newspaper or a plastic sheet to protect your area.
  2. Cut the Tissue Paper: Cut the tissue paper into squares or rectangles, about 2×2 inches.
  3. Apply Glue: Take your jar or cup and use glue to cover a small section of the surface.
  4. Attach Tissue Paper: Press a piece of the first color of tissue paper onto the glued area.
  5. Continue Layering: Work your way around the jar, applying glue and attaching pieces of tissue paper until it’s covered.
  6. Let it Dry: Allow the lantern to dry completely.
  7. Add Lighting: Once dry, place an LED tea light inside the jar.

Notes

For cleaner results, use a paintbrush to apply glue. Supervise kids during crafting to ensure safety.
