- Acrylic paint (in various rainbow colors)
- Paintbrushes or sponges
- A clean surface for painting
- Optional: decorations like stickers, washi tape, or glitter
- Scissors
- Craft glue or a glue gun
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Lay down some old newspapers or a plastic sheet to protect your working surface from paint spills.
- Clean the Containers: Make sure your containers are clean and dry. Remove any labels if you’re using cans.
- Paint the Base Color: Choose your first rainbow color and apply it to the bottom third of the cup using a paintbrush or sponge. Let it dry completely before moving to the next color.
- Layer Additional Colors: Continue adding layers of different colors of paint, working your way up the container.
- Add Decorative Elements: After your paint is dry, use craft glue to attach any decorations.
- Dry and Display: Allow everything to dry thoroughly. Place your newly crafted rainbow pencil cup on your desk.
Notes
Supervise younger children during the painting and cutting steps for safety. Consider experimenting with seasonal colors for variations.
