Description

A fun and imaginative DIY project for creating glow in the dark jars using simple materials like dish soap and glow paint.

Materials

  • A glass jar or container with a lid
  • Clear dish soap
  • Glow in the dark paint or glow sticks
  • Water
  • Glitter (optional)
  • A mixing stick or spoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Materials: Gather all the materials listed above on a clean surface to ensure ease while crafting.
  2. Mix the Solution: In your jar, pour about half a cup of clear dish soap. This will act as the base of your glow-in-the-dark solution.
  3. Adding Glow: If you’re using glow in the dark paint, mix a tablespoon of it into your dish soap. For glow sticks, break one open and pour the contents into the jar. Make sure to avoid any spills.
  4. Optional Ingredients: If you’d like a touch of sparkle, add a little glitter to the mixture. This can give your jar a fantastic look in the dark.
  5. Final Touches: Add around a cup of water to the jar to dilute the mixture further. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  6. Seal and Charge: Put the lid on the jar tightly and leave it in a bright area for a few hours to “charge” the glow effect.
  7. Enjoy the Results: Once charged, turn off the lights and see your creation glow brilliantly.

Notes

Adult supervision is recommended when kids are crafting, especially during mixing and handling materials like broken glow sticks.
