Description

A fun and engaging project to create beautiful glow in the dark crystals that can be used as ornaments or decor.

Materials

  • 1 cup Epsom salt or sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • Glow in the dark paint
  • Small containers for mixing
  • String for hanging
  • Optional: Food coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare your mixture by mixing 1 cup of Epsom salt (or sugar) with 2 cups of water. Heat the water slightly until the salt dissolves fully, then add a few drops of glow in the dark paint.
  2. Set your crystals by pouring the mixture into a mold or shallow dish and letting it sit undisturbed in a cool place.
  3. Collect your crystals after they have formed (this can take 24 hours) and carefully remove them from the molds.
  4. Finish your ornaments by attaching a string to the top of each crystal for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with different shapes and colors for unique crystals. Display them under light before enjoying their glow.
