Description

Engage kids with this fun and educational rainbow fizzing science project using baking soda and vinegar.


Materials

  • 4 empty cardboard toilet paper rolls
  • 8 tablespoons Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
  • 2 cups white distilled vinegar
  • Blue food coloring
  • Red food coloring
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Pink food coloring
  • Small funnel
  • Small spoon
  • Plastic bottle caps (optional)


Instructions

  1. Place the cardboard tubes upright on a tray or flat surface to catch any overflow.
  2. Spoon 2 tablespoons of baking soda into each cardboard tube.
  3. Mix 1/2 cup of vinegar with a few drops of your chosen food coloring in small cups.
  4. Pour the colored vinegar into the tubes using the funnel and watch the fizzing reaction!

Notes

Ensure children are supervised, especially during the pouring step. Clean up any spills immediately.
